Class Description: A hands on introductory Java programming class teaches a series of concepts and skills including how programs work, installing the JDK, basic Java input, output, arithmetic, and logic operations, how to create a program on your PC. Taught by Mr. Carl Hardeman who is an experienced programmer at FedEx and has years of experience teaching computer programming classes at the college level.
Objective:
Students will leave the class having written a program to run on their PC to read data from the keyboard, design calculations, and display the results.
Students:
Anyone who is familiar with basic algebra concepts and basic Windows operating system functions such as creating and reading files in folders.
Required materials:
Students need to have access to a laptop PC with the Java JDK installed and the Textpad product installed. Both are downloadable freeware. Instructions will be given to have this done before the first class meeting. There is no INTERNET access in the classroom, and it is not needed.

Class 1: June 7 – 11, 4:00-6:00 pm
Class2: June 14 – 18, 4:00-6:00 pm
Tuition: $400, with a $100 discount for 2nd family member. Students can also get a $50 reduction for each additional student they recruit at full price.
